City Creek

I had a presentation today on all the construction surrounding our building. I work in the Beneficial Life Tower fka Gateway Tower West so the City Creek Center (CCC) is being built all around us. They went over some of the procedures they are using to build due to complicated circumstances. They also talked a lot about the cranes because there has been some concern over how close they are to our building. I should have taken a picture because at some times they are only 20-30 feet away. They're putting in some software that will shut down the cranes if they get 2 meters from the building but it still makes you uneasy when you watch them.

The coolest thing they did was take us on a virtual tour of CCC. They also said it is posted on their site but the image is a lot smaller and it's very grainy. I'd still check it out if I were you. You start out at the entrance across from Temple Square, then go to the center of that block, then work your way towards Main Street and across the street at ground level. Then you go upstairs and go to the sky bridge and then work your way towards State Street then back to 100 South and then to Nordstrom's that will be on West Temple. Not the best description but it might help you as you watch it.

Here are some other random things we learned in the meeting.
- There will be trout in the creek but no fishing allowed.
- There are 11 places to eat in the food court but the food court is clear over by State Street (boo!).
- The glass ceiling will be retractable so in bad weather they can close it or if it gets too hot in the summer they can turn on the AC.
- There will be dogs allowed in the open areas and dog amenities available.
- 20% of the food at Harmon's will be ready to consume food with not prep.

9th Annual St. Patrick's Party

I'm actually not sure it's the 9th annual but I know it's at least that many and maybe more. Well there was plenty of green food last night at Erin's (the girls) party. While we couldn't get Celtic Thunder to make an appearance we still had a fun time. It seems like the clogger parties are getting more and more different now that there are so many babies. We used to play games the whole time but now it's a lot more baby wrangling. We made sure we called Joey Bear to wish him a Happy Birthday because he didn't come home from Florida for the party, so we only had one birthday boy there this year.

We did get some Rock Band in for the night.

I just realized I only took pictures when pretty much the same group was playing. The girls did play also. Brandi was a lot better at the drums than I thought she would be. Erin and I did a duet to Blitzkrieg Bop (or as Kirsten likes to call it, Let's Creep Up).

Now let's check out all the babies. This is Logan's betrothed, Acelin. We had to get this picture so we can later put it in their wedding video. They are the same height right now and Acelin is only a pound heavier but she does more tricks than Logan like eat solids and crawl.

Here are all the other babies. All girls and then there is Logan. Well you can see Kaden's feet on the right of the picture but he just wanted to get in his pajamas and go to bed so we didn't make him pose.

I had to put this picture in of Lucas' little girl, Halle since he won't ever update his website.

I almost forgot. While I was at Erin's house I decided that I need to work through more of the exercises in Bryan Peterson's book, Understanding Exposure. So every other Thursday I'll post which exercise I'm doing so you can do it too and we'll get through the book and become better photographers. So you have a week and 2 days to get the book if you don't have it all ready.

Lame Post Alert

So I had a post ready but didn't have time to bring in the pictures. I had the hottest construction worker ever, knock on my door this morning and tell me I wouldn't have use of my driveway so I had to run and move my car and that just took up more time that I didn't have. So hopefully tomorrow.

Last week I went to Mazza. It was really good. I used to go to all these interesting lunch places with my friend Diana but she now works far far away so I had to find a new friend who would go. So Pat and I have been going to a new place each week. I really liked Mazza. The service was slow but I think that is the way they like to do it. Also the entrees are more than I like to spend for lunch but I got a sandwich and there is the option of putting it over rice. I got chicken shawarma and Pat got falafel. I also recommend if you go there to make sure you have gum for afterwards.

No Longer Struggling to go to Work

Well we picked up one of these on Monday night so now I have to go to work to pay for it. I love it though. It's so nice dragging Logan out there in the morning because you don't have to push anything to unlock the doors and since my hands are always full it's very nice.

We Rocked All Night

We had a Rock Band party last Friday with a bunch of our neighbors. This was the first party we've gone to since we had Logan and we felt so pathetic when we had to leave at 10:00 to pick him up. The highlights were Mike L. singing Vaseline, Mindy's outfit was louder than her singing, Brittany's drum skills and even Ryan sang Sabotage and didn't miss a word.

I love Amber's concentration she has going on.

Brittany was a drumming machine. She says it was her first time playing drums but I'm sure she has sneaked up to our house and has been practicing with Tad.
